SUMMARY:Denison: Screening of 'Outrage'
DESCRIPTION:Denison's Queer Night presents a screening of "Outrage\," a documentary investigation of closeted legislators who pursue anti-gay agendas\, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday\, Oct. 19\, in Room 305 of the Bryant Arts Center (210 West College Street). Following the screening\, there will be a discussion about the ethics of "outing" and the implications of the film for the upcoming election. With analysis from prominent members of the gay community such as former U.S. Rep. Barney Frank\, former N.J. Gov. James McGreevey\, activist Larry Kramer\, radio personality Michealangelo Signorile\, and U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin\, "Outrage" probes deeply into the psychology of this double lifestyle\, the ethics of outing closeted politicians\, the double standards that the media upholds in its coverage of the sex lives of gay public figures\, and much more. This event is part of Queer Night\, a class offered by the Denison Queer Studies program. Members of the public and the campus community are welcome to join the students in the screening and discussion.
