DESCRIPTION:Each year Denison University's International Studies Department hosts a series of films from across the world that bear witness to human rights violations. The films are complied by the Human Rights Watch Film Festival organization. This year's festival at Denison takes place on five consecutive Tuesday evenings beginning Tuesday\, Feb. 4\, in the auditorium of Slayter Hall (200 Ridge Road). All are free and open to the public. The New Black tells the story of how the African American community is grappling with lesbian\, gay\, bisexual and transgender (L.G.B.T) rights in light of the marriage equality movement and the fight over civil rights.\n\n       Tuesday\, Feb. 11: "My Afghanistan - Life in the Forbidden Zone." Nagieb Khaja\, a Danish journalist of Afghan origin\, travels to Lashkar Gah\, capital of Helmand province in Afghanistan and gives cell phones to villagers to record their stories.\n\n       Tuesday\, Feb. 18: "An Unreal Dream - The Michael Morton Story." In 1986 Michael Morton's wife Christine is brutally murdered in front of their only child\, and Michael is convicted of the crime.\n\n       Tuesday\, Feb. 25:  "Camp 14 - Total Control Zone." Camp 14 is a concentration camp with security level "Total Control Zone" and is as large as a city: with 40\,000 prisoners and measuring 500 square kilometers.\n\n       Tuesday\, March 4: "Solar Mama." This inspiring film is about one woman's attempt to light up her world.
