DESCRIPTION:When Morgan Hughes and a group of other Columbus soccer fans heard that their team\, the Columbus Crew\, was possibly going to move to Austin\, Texas\, they banded together and created the Save The Crew movement. This carefully organized group of volunteers worked tirelessly to create a network of businesses\, civic leaders and fans to convince the owners to sell instead of move. In just over 14 months\, they managed to do what few sports teams have been able to do- they saved their team-- and made international news with their success. Join us to hear Hughes talk about the grassroots organization that used their marketing skill\, community connections and fresh ideas to beat the odds to keep their team where they thought it should stay forever in Central Ohio.
