DESCRIPTION:The Works: Ohio Center for History\, Art and Technology presents ?From Ditch to Dazzling ? Recycled Art?\, a collaborative exhibition curated by Todd Camp featuring works from local schools\, businesses\, and artists throughout Licking County. An extension of the Green Revolution Licking County initiative\, this exhibit opens to the public on Friday\, January 24 at 6:00 p.m. The goal of ?From Ditch to Dazzling ? Recycled Art? is to bring awareness to recycling and start a conversation about green living in our communities. Individual and collaborative works of art primarily made of recycled materials include 16 large installations\, a 900 pound dinosaur made from metal farm machinery\, and collages. A unique collaborative community portrait mural made of junk drawer finds will also be displayed. Schools featured in ?From Ditch to Dazzling ? Recycled Art? include\; Granville Elementary & Middle School\, Heritage Middle School\, Licking County Christian Academy Elementary & High School\, and Ridgemont Local Schools. ?From Ditch to Dazzling ? Recycled Art? is proudly support by\; The Smithsonian\, Museum of Science + Industry Chicago\, Denison University\, Target\, and American Electric Power. The exhibit will remain on display until April 12. Gallery admission is free and open to the public Tuesday-Saturday\, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sundays (Jan. - Mar. only)\, Noon - 4 p.m. The Works is an interactive learning center where people of all ages can have fun and be inspired by the history\, technology and artistic accomplishments of the community we serve.
