Denison: Artist's Talk with Katie Bell
The Department of Studio Art welcomes Katie Bell for an artist’s talk. Bell received her bachelor’s degree from Knox College, where she studied fine art and race and gender studies. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a master’s in fine art in painting. Bell has shown her work at a variety of venues, including Mixed Greens and Storefront in New York City, Nudashank in Baltimore, PLUG Projects in Kansas City, Mo., Okay Mountain Gallery in Austin, Texas, and the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Mass. In 2011, she was an artist in residence at the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation’s Space Program based in Brooklyn, N.Y. She recently was awarded a fellowship in painting by the New York Foundation for the Arts and is preparing for a solo show at Locust Projects in Miami next year.
