Denison:'Baseball, Public Memory, and the Rhetorical Redemption of a President'
The National Communication Association (NCA) Institute presents a public lecture titled "George W. Bush as the 'Man in the Arena': Baseball, Public Memory, and the Rhetorical Redemption of a President." The NCA is holding their annual conference from Sunday, July 23, through Saturday, July 29, at Denison. The Seminar Leader's Keynote presentations, which take place each morning at 8:30 a.m. in the lecture hall of the Burton Morgan Center and on two evenings at 7 p.m. in the President's Room at Huffman Dining Hall, are open to the public. The conference, also known as the "Hope Conference," brings together communication scholars, from across the country, recognized for their reputations as teacher-scholars and mentors in the discipline. Participants select two seminars and attend those sessions daily to learn new pedagogy, develop research interests or explore emerging topics with top scholar-teachers in their field. Attendees gather to hear keynote presentations throughout the week, and a scholar-in-residence facilitates discussions of scholarship and addresses research trajectories.
