The Sustainability Documentary and Dinner Film Series presents a screening of “Gathering Storm,” featuring Jack Black and Ian Somerhalder. This documentary is part of National Geographic’s “Years of Living Dangerously,” the Emmy-winning climate change series featuring some of Hollywood’s most influential stars. “Years of Living Dangerously” reveals emotional and hard-hitting accounts of the effects of climate change from across the planet. Miami could be underwater by the end of the century if nothing is done to curb emissions. Jack Black investigates whether the city can survive the rising seas, while Ian Somerhalder takes an ocean voyage in search of clues from the past to understand hurricanes of the future. Diving into “blue holes,” he shows how we’re heating the oceans up. And this could mean giant storms for places like Miami. Sponsored by the Denison Sustainability Fellows and the Office of Sustainability, the film series is open to members of the community who are interested in environmental and social issues. Participants are invited to dine in the President’s Room in Huffman Hall beginning at 5 p.m. The film screening will start at 5:30 p.m. The first 30 people to arrive receive a free dinner.
