Denison Suzuki Program “Winter Festival” Offers Free Concerts
The Denison Suzuki Program is offering the following free musical events as part of its Winter Festival Friday, January 13 through Sunday, January 15.
The Friday Night Freeze-in and concert, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday January 13 in the Burke Hall for Performing Arts Recital Hall and opens with Winter Festival participants being led in group performances by Winter Festival clinicians and Denison Suzuki Program faculty. All the groups gather together for a combined performance which represents the Suzuki philosophy of education that “every child can.”
Following the Friday Night Freeze-in, we will be treated to a recital featuring Minju Choi, concert pianist and member of the piano faculty at the University of Indianapolis.
The Clinicians Concert on Saturday, January 14, 1:15-2:15 p.m. in the Burke Hall for Performing Arts Recital Hall is also free and open to the public. This delightful concert features our cello, flute, piano, viola, and violin clinicians.
A Suzuki Parent Forum is scheduled for Sunday, January 15, 1:15-2:15 p.m. in the Burke Hall for Performing Arts Recital Hall. Ann Montzka-Smelser, Suzuki Teacher Trainer and Suzuki parent, will facilitate a discussion with a panel of Denison Suzuki Program parents. This is a great event to attend if you are curious about the Suzuki philosophy of education.
Generous support for these events comes from the Granville Arts Commission, The Loft Violin Shop and Usborne Books.
