Denison: 'The Story Collider'
Denison’s Narrative Nonfiction Writing concentration and Geosciences program present “The Story Collider,” a live show featuring true, personal stories about science at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the Auditorium of Slayter Hall (200 Ridge Road). Doors open at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Erik Klemetti at 740-587-5788 or visit https://www.storycollider.org/shows/2018/2/28/granville-oh-denison-university. Sharing their stories are Denison faculty members Erik Klemetti, associate professor of geosciences, environmental studies and narrative non-fiction writing; Andy McCall, associate professor of biology, data analytics and environmental studies; Heather Rhodes, associate professor of biology and neuroscience; Seth Chin-Parker, associate professor of neuroscience and psychology and Alison Williams, associate provost. “The Story Collider” was founded in 2010 by Ben Lillie and Brian Wecht, two physicists who met at a storytelling show in Queens, New York, and quickly realized that they could do that too. Since then, “The Story Collider” has been bringing these stories to life through their many live shows and a weekly podcast, using what they learned about science and stories to teach scientists to use narrative in their university and corporate workshop program.
