On April 30, 2017 at 2:30, there will be a dedication of the headstones of Revolutionary War veteran Capt. David Messenger (1760-1811) and his wife, Hannah Higley (1758-1815), in the Old Colony Burying Ground in Granville, Ohio. This couple was also instrumental in the founding of Granville as original members of the Licking Land Company. The stones were recreated based upon personal photographs, excavation of Hannah's stone determined the font and cemetery records informed the inscription.
