Jerrie Mock, First Woman to Fly Solo Around the World
Newark, Ohio honors the accomplishments of native Geraldine "Jerrie" Mock with a day of special events celebrating her recordsetting 1964 flight piloting the Spirit of Columbus.
Through the generosity of private donations, The Jerrie Mock Aviation Pioneer Sculpture Fund held at the Licking County Foundation has raised enough money to erect a bronze statue in Newark, Ohio in honor of Newark native Geraldine "Jerrie" Mock's historic 1964 accomplishment of being the first woman to successfully pilot a solo flight around the world.

Newark-Heath Airport Shuttle Service
Guests arriving in Newark, Ohio by plane to attend the dedication may fly in to the Newark-Heath Airport (VTA). Complimentary round-trip shuttle service will be provided from the airport to the event by EAA402.
Jerrie Mock Statue Dedication will take place at The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology. Attend the unveiling of a bronze statue honoring Jerrie Mock. Enjoy light refreshments while visiting aviation organizations represented at the event.
