Mr. Jim: Growing Art In Our Community? Art Exhibit Opening at The Works
The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art and Technology presents “Mr. Jim: Growing Art In Our Community”, a retrospective art exhibit recognizing the accomplishments and artistic contributions of Columbus visual artist and Newark native, Jim Arter. Opening to the public on Friday, July 26 at 6:00 p.m., this exhibition features his collaborative projects with children in Licking County and across the world.
Complimenting Arter’s solo work are collaborative projects from his recent partnerships with Licking County children, teens, and adults. With Arter’s guidance, each group created meaningful and expressive works of art. Other community art will also be featured.
Sponsored by Park National Bank with artist funding provided by the Puffin Foundation West, Ltd., “Mr. Jim: Growing Art In Our Community” will remain on display until October 12. Gallery admission is free and open to the public Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The Works is an interactive learning center where people of all ages can have fun and be inspired by the history, technology and artistic accomplishments of the community we serve. The Works Main Art Gallery is located at 55 S. First Street, Newark, Ohio 43055. Visit us on the web at www.attheworks.org.
