Ohio Sustainable Landscapes Symposium
Keynote speaker Dr. Doug Tallamy, award-winning author of Bringing Nature Home
Learn about incorporating native trees and shrubs into your home landscape to create more resilient and sustainable ecosystems. Presentations will address the critical roles these plants play and the bene ts of designing landscapes with the needs of trees in mind. We’ll then focus on how to select the native species that will thrive in your backyard. One-of-a-kind live demonstrations will be o ered on proper planting techniques, mulching, pruning, soil improvements and much more. Arboretum tours will highlight a variety of sustainable landscape features, including a newly expanded learning garden and a native tree propagation house. The day will conclude with a native tree giveaway and a chance to hear more about The Dawes Arboretum’s Plant Clinic resource.

Fees/Admission
Registration fee is $49 for Dawes Arboretum members or $64 for non-members and includes a one-year Sugar Maple membership. Register by August 22. A special price of $20 is offered for students (quantity limited; register by August 1). You may choose to purchase a locally-sourced boxed lunch for $15 at time of registration or bring your own packed lunch.
