DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!!!!\n\n\n\nThe Vail Series and the Department of Music welcome Sam Bush as a headliner for the 2017 Bluegrass Concert. Bush has helped to expand the horizons of bluegrass music\, fusing it with jazz\, rock\, blues\, funk and other styles. He's the co-founder of the genre-bending New Grass Revival and an in-demand musician who has played with everyone from Emmylou Harris and Bela Fleck to Charlie Haden\, Lyle Lovett and Garth Brooks. Although Bush is best known for jaw-dropping skills on the mandolin\, he is also a three-time national junior fiddle champion and Grammy award winning vocalist\, as well as having been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Americana Music Association. A limited number of tickets will be available to the general public for $15.00 each on a first-come\, first-serve basis. For each event\, request tickets by e-mail: vailseries@denison.edu. The Bluegrass Festival opens on Friday night\, March 3\, at 7 p.m. in Swasey Chapel with a concert by Larry Sparks and The Lonesome Ramblers. This concert is free and open to the public.
