SUMMARY:New Solar Exhibit at The Works Demonstrates the Power of the Sun
DESCRIPTION:The Works: Ohio Center for History\, Art and Technology\, with funding and support from Dovetail Solar and Wind\, Denison University\, Hyundai Ideal Electric Co.\, and The Camille & Henry Dreyfus Foundation\, Inc.\, is proud to introduce a new outdoor solar exhibit to the museum's LeFevre Courtyard on Friday\, August 3. The unveiling will take place during the Music in the Courtyard summer concert at noon. \n\n	 \n\n	In just one hour\, more energy hits the earth from the sun than all humans use in an entire year! This amazingly plentiful and clean energy source can be harnessed as electricity using photovoltaic technology\, known as solar panels. The Works' new solar exhibit gives an up-close view of a cutting edge silicon solar panel\, teaches how panels are made\, and the science behind how they work. Visitors will even be able to see solar power in action by directly observing the effects of a cloudy sky\, or their own shadow on the exhibit\, and may even be able to launch a ball out of the "Solar Canon"... all while learning about the amazing power of the sun. \n\n	 \n\n	 \n\n	The Works is an interactive learning center where people of all ages can have fun and be inspired by the history\, technology and artistic accomplishments of the community we serve.
