SUMMARY:'You on the Moors Now' by Jaclyn Backhaus
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Theatre presents Jaclyn Backhaus' "You on the Moors Now" the meta-fictional exploration of four classic nineteenth century novels of feminist literature turns convention and societal norms upside down in a grand theatrical battle royale.\nIn this contemplative comedy\, Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen) Jo March (Little Women by Louisa May Alcott) Cathy (Wuthering Heights by Emily Bront ) and Jane (Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bront ) confront Mr. Darcy\, Laurie Laurence\, Heathcliff\, and Mr. Rochester resulting in a confluence of love\, anger\, grief\, and bloodshed as the ensemble struggles to reconcile romantic ideologies of the past with their modern ideas of courtship.\n\nCOVID Policy Information: At this time\, masks are optional at performances in the Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts. We encourage our audiences to be fully vaccinated\, but will no longer require proof of vaccination to reserve tickets. All events and COVID policies are subject to change.
