Denison University’s 18th Annual Human Rights Film Festival presents a screening of “Blue Island.”
The four-part film looks back at critical moments of resistance and revolution in Hong Kong: in 1967, 1973, and 1989. The movie then reveals how the activists are faring in modern-day Hong Kong. Some still fight with righteous fire, while others have been disillusioned by the system. One of the young demonstrators observers that “All the hardships endured seem to be repeating in our generation.”
