Take a guided tour of the Daweswood House Museum, once the country home of Arboretum co-founders, the late Beman and Berties Dawes. See and hear the history behind antiques and memorabilia from the Dawes family.A house highlight is the “Rathskeller,” a basement area that displays shovels used by 100 notable men and women who dedicated trees at The Arboretum and features their initials and signatures on the ceiling. Photography not permitted inside the Daweswood House. Tickets for tours are purchased in the Visitors Center. Please call Visitors Services ahead to confirm tour times (some times and days may be cancelled due to events).
