Denison University’s family-friendly Brain Bee tests high school students’ knowledge about the brain. "But don’t be too scared of it," says Nestor Matthews, associate professor of psychology and director of the contest. "We provide a study guide on our website." The study guide, "Brain Facts," can be found on the Brain Bee websitewww.denison.edu/-matthewsn/
All participants will receive a free Brain Bee T-shirt and are eligible to earn money for themselves and a neuroscience-related charity when they answer questions correctly. The winner will earn a travel award to the U.S. National Brain Bee competition at the University of Maryland this March.
"The brain is a fascinating organ," says Matthews. "It’s worth a lifetime of study. The Brain Bee is an entertaining and informative way to introduce our high school students to this everyday marvel."
