"E-waste" refers to the electronics trash that collects in the basement when you buy a new computer or television and you don't know what to do with the unused or broken old electronics that you've replaced. It isn't safe to put it in the trash because it's full of mercury, lead, cadmium, and other toxins that can leach into the water system. Although it's not yet illegal in Ohio, many states don't allow e-waste in the landfills. E-waste includes screens, keyboards, power cords, batteries, computers, DVD players, radios -- virtually any kind of electronics trash.
