Dr. Jack Shuler, Associate Professor, Denison University Department of English - "Nina's Strange Fruit" - Most people think of "Strange Fruit" as Billy Holiday's song, but there were other versions. Jack Shuler will talk about Nina Simone's version of the song and how the song's message resonated with Simone's childhood growing up in a small mountain town called Tryon, North Carolina.
