The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology celebrates its 9th annual Cocktails by the Fire fundraiser benefiting the museum?s Glass Studio on Saturday, February 1 at 6:30 p.m. Known as the hottest social event of the winter, this year?s theme celebrates sustainability and the joy of living local. Be the first to sample Fat Tire, a Belgium beer new to Ohio distributed by Matesich Distributing, and learn about this brewery?s commitment to instituting ?green? technologies into the brewing process. Feast on locally grown and prepared foods from numerous restaurants while browsing local retailers who provide eco-friendly products. Fully stocked cash bars manned by ?celebrity? bartenders and a live performance by ?Speak Easy?, a group of area musicians led by Andy Carlson, are all part of this evening of casual fun and entertainment. As a fundraising event benefiting The Works Glass Studio, guests are invited to watch as professional glass artists craft unique blown glass pieces that are auctioned during Cocktails by the Fire. Limited edition glass tumblers are also available for purchase. All proceeds benefit The Works Glass Studio which serves as a unique community resource for STEM education and the arts in Licking County and beyond.
