Description: The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out assigned duties relative to the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the C-TEC facilities, equipment, and grounds. In addition to routine tasks, they will report to the C-TEC Facilities Manager any damage, safety hazards, or other problems regarding the C-TEC facilities, grounds, equipment, or other property. Individual would be responsible for skilled repair and preventive maintenance of a wide variety of equipment including, but not limited to, boilers, chillers, plumbing, electric, mechanics, and installing parts. Some responsibilities will be, but not limited to: Perform Building and equipment inspections and respond to maintenance and repair calls; Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems; Visually inspect/repair and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment; Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints; May fabricate parts or pieces for repairs; Assist with custodial duties, security, mowing, snow removal or any function to assist in the building operation as needed.
Qualifications: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Two years’ experience as a mechanic or comparable field; Possess other education credentials and/or work experience that reflects the technical and communication skills necessary for this position; 18 months of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area; BACnet (building automation) experience; Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures; Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy
