Denison: 'Introducing Global Content'
The Global Studies Seminar welcomes Nausica Marcos Miguel, assistant professor of Spanish at Denison, presenting “Introducing Global Content in Intermediate Language Courses.” This presentation will discuss how to include global topics in intermediate language classes. In the presentation, textbooks utilized in different courses will be examined, seeking points where global topics could enhance the curriculum. Moreover, the approaches of content-based instruction, critical pedagogies as well as the recommendations of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) will be discussed.
