The dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals in the Jurassic Park films are very lifelike but how scientifically accurate are they? This talk discusses what the filmmakers got right and what they got wrong. Our guest speaker, Dale Gnidovec, is the Collections Manager & Curator for the Orton Geological Museum, School of Earth Sciences, at the Ohio State University. He manages a collection of over 54,000 rocks, minerals, and fossils. He speaks to nearly 5,000 people a year through public outreach events and teaches an Earth History course at the Ohio State University. Mr. Gnidovec writes a geology column that appears periodically in the Columbus Dispatch. During the past 13 summers, he has worked with the Cincinnati Museum Center searching and digging for dinosaur fossils in Montana.
