We all have a picture in our head of volcanic eruptions, but what actually happens before, during, and after an eruption? Dr. Erik Klemetti will highlight a number of famous eruptions including the 1912 eruption of Katmai in Alaska, the 2010 eruption of Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland, and the 2018 eruption at Kilauea in Hawaii. Dr. Klemetti is an associate professor of Geosciences and a volcanologist at Denison University. He works on volcanoes all over the planet, from Chile to New Zealand to the the Cascades of Oregon and California. He also writes for Discover Magazine. You can find him on Twitter (@Eruptionsblog).
